Friday Freebies Cardigans

A cardigan is a year-round knit, no doubt about it. There's always a time, regardless of the month (unless you live in the Bahamas) when you can use a little cover-up. Here is a pair that are worthy of consideration...



Meet the Sassafras Cardi from Berroco! A beautifully fitted, wonderfully textured knit! You'll want to use a solid or semi-solid 3-ply (or more) for the textured stitches to make them really stand out. Personally I don't care for bracelet length sleeves so I'd make them longer but that's just my bias. I can see this in a pristine natural white for real elegance, maybe a silk blend?



You can't beat this Fitted Jacket from Lion Brand for simplicity and every day comfort! Simple styling and knit-in pockets (which I just LOVE!) make this the kind of sweater you can use every day with everything you wear! I recommend a hearty handspun wool for this cardi! Forget the buttery commercial Merino and use something from your handspun stash that is durable, like Jacob, Finn or Cottswold and enjoy this cardi for years to come!
