Crazy For Orange

Email blogging.... sorry the Comments aren't working on these, I'll have to open the interface to allow them - sorry!
OK I admit that orange is not a color I generally have much to do with in anything; clothing, decor, jewelry etc but those delicious orange batts in the mixed bags I bought from DyeingForColor really inspired me! There were a number of wild orange batts:

And there were two brownish-golden orange batts:

And I'm very proud to say I didn't spin them all the same! Some of the wild was spun as art yarn which I plied with some plain orange singles. The skein was a whopping 6 ounces and about 210 yds!

The golden-orange batt spun up even bulkier at only 135 yds for 6 ounces! But it's SO plush and smooshy! Mmmm!

When the two large skeins were done I simply plied together the remaining fine singles of the different colors of orange superwash I had left. This made 2 more smaller skeins:

Meet Tangerine, a pleasant fingering weight, 1.4 ounces and 150 yds, and her half sister Goldenrod, also 1.4 ounces and 147 yds. I was really bowled over by how consistent these 2 skeins were with each other - gee - almost like I had some pretty good control spinning or something.... well, or maybe it was just voodoo after all... LOL! They are all in my Etsy shop waiting to find new homes, except for Goldenrod, she found a new mama right away... hopefully her half sisters will be so lucky too! Cheers all!

Love the colors you got. I'm not a fan of art yarn, but the bright orange skein (3rd from the bottom in my browser) is gorgeous. Happy Thanksgiving!
