Friday Freebie Hats

It's been a hairy week. I blinked. It was gone. What more can I say?

The Shelter Island Hat from Tahki Stacey Charles is a gorgeous combination of textures and non-conformity! Just enough of a challenge to keep you enthralled and not a stitch of ribbing in sight! And on top of all that, I think it just begs for handspun yarn! Something special you've been saving that doesn't have a lot of yardage but you'd really like to showcase - I mean, it's going on your head, after all!

I just love this Scarf Hat from Caron Naturally, even if it IS knit in Barbie-girl pink! It's knit in the round with simple garter stitch detailing which you can easily omit if you're using your favorite thick 'n thin or some indie dyed handspun. Self striping if you're feeling loud? It would make an awesome Christmas gift and it's a small enough project you can finish more than one with plenty of time left over - at least if you start now! So line up those movies you've been dying to watch and cast on! It's an easy knit and you can justify putting your feet up because you're getting a jump on the holidays! Cheers all! Enjoy!
