Blue Merino Silk
Another beautiful bundle of Merino blended with silk from The Dyepot! The color sates my passion for all things blue in fiber and yarn - I can't seem to manage without a dose of it at regularly timed intervals! LOL!! Must be some sort of imbalance in my right frontal lobe....
I have another conflict here - that I love silks and silk blends on principle, whether it's yarn, knitted items or spinning fiber. Unfortunately I dislike knitting with 100% silk because it has no "give", I am not overly fond of spinning silk blends or silk hankies because they don't cling to themselves very well and I am madly in love with wearing silk but dislike having to hand wash it! Honestly! Talk about your love/hate relationship!
And I didn't do anything exciting with this lot either! I did my ho-hum usual of spinning it fairly fine and then Navajo plied it to preserve the color changes. Granted, it turned out beautifully but it was only a fleeting affection! it will be going into my Etsy Shop in the next week or so along with a lot of others!

It turned into a Sport weight, 3-ply, 502 yds from 5 oz (145 gms) and I cant help liking it for how pretty it is... what IS it about blues that mesmerize me so??
