Too Nice to Part With

Although I have been trying not to acquire more yarn every once in a while I spin up something I just can't bring myself to post in my Etsy Shop. It's another batch of fiber from Dyeing for Color. A delicious blend of 80% superwash wool and 20% bamboo. I seem to have gone through quite a few moody green batches of fiber over the last year. I loved them as fiber yet after they were spun up the zing was gone from the relationship and it wasn't hard to put them up for sale. Not so with this lot! Granted I understand green may not be to everybody's taste and I generally think of myself as being a pushover for blues but the calm coolness of nature tones seems to appeal to me more of late. It's not just the softness of this fiber but the subtle variegated shading of the different greens, not quite crossing into lime and never straying into emerald, always roaming in the mossy dark shades. Makes me think of cool shady glades and Pirates of the Caribbean mossy caves with a sparkling tropical ocean just outside...
I spun two 4 ounce lots, one darker, one lighter and then plied them together. I got 770 yds of 2 ply, a comfortable sport weight that I'm thinking will make something nice, like a shawl or wrap.... (OK no pokes about how many of those I already have on needles ....)
