PhatFiber March Box - Sweet Shop

Incredibly it has taken me nearly 3 weeks to do justice to the March PhatFiber Sampler Box. And my box has so many really beautiful fiber samples in it! I'll start with the stitch markers though.

Of course there were candies! Yum! WineMakersSister made Oreo cookie stitch markers and included a recipe for homemade oreo-type cookies! There is a totally cool "Will Knit For Chocolate" button from Zippy pins too.

At center bottom is JellyBeans from Calliope's Fiber, a buttery soft roll of candy colors (you see green white & blue)! Just below the Kool-Aid (a do-it-yourself dye kit from Color Bug Yarns) is a spectacular sample of hand painted silk from Woolie Bullie. Beside the Kool-Ade is Chase the Rainbow (Skittles colorway) from The Kitten Knits, a color explosion of medium grade Merino. They were all beautiful colors but these were my absolute favorite fiber samples. Some for color, some for the sheer excellence of the fiber. Some of the others were Corriedale which will likely never find it's way onto my favorite fiber list (sorry - my bias!)

Although there were only a few yarn samples I got two I fell in love with. One, the earthy colored brown is 50% Alpaca, 45% Icelandic and 5% Angora has a marvelous hand. Amazing what even a small percentage of "real" Angora can do to yarn! It's from Cedarland Farm. My other favorite is the upcycled wool/cashmere above it to the right with the purple paper in it. I have a "thing" for rescued yarns and this one is really really nice! My hat's off to you, Taddie Bee Knitting - great job!
What really excited me is I got BOTH patterns that were done for this box (bottom left) the All Sorts cowl/scarf thingie from Garilynn AND the Moon Rocks sampler hat from Maggie Fangman! Yay!

And the award for Creativity in Packaging goes to Plum Crazy Ranch for the Chocolate Cherry "cupcake" of Yak and Alpaca fiber! Totally delicious fiber in a totally delicious presentation! I will say that I know there were other contributors to this box that made fiber cupcakes too but this is the only one I got in my box. I still think it's a real genius job of presentation! Sweet!
