Friday Freebies For R and R

The best kind of  R & R is the kind where you sit back in your chair with your feet up, your beverage of choice in your hand and peruse some fiber-related reading material. These two are free on-line and absolutely chock full of inspiring designs, colorful and delicious yarns, entertaining articles as well as technical tips and tricks!
The first is Knit Circus. The Spring 2011 issue is up! Since I have a paid subscription a link for all the patterns from the e-zine are emailed to me. Otherwise you can purchase them individually. The articles and the photos are great! Enjoy!

And in case you're not subscribed (and why not, since it's FREE?) the Spring & Summer 2011 issue of Twist Collective is also up! The patterns from this e-zine are also only available for purchase but the articles are great and it's so nice to be able to read without turning pages by hand. I just love the function format!

I thought I'd also include an actual FREE pattern! This is Winnow from Knitty who I am also expecting to have their Spring e-zine up fairly soon! Winnow takes it's name from the ears of wheat pattern that runs up the front (you know, those pea-pod shaped things?). Winnowing is the name of the process that separates the wheat kernel from the outer shell, or "chaff". These are the kind of socks you knit to show off you're not only a proficient sock knitter but also an accomplished lace knitter.... ya, OK, I won't be casting them on any time soon.... but maybe you?
