Woodland Lace Cowl Finished!

I am so pleased to be able to say my Woodland Cowl is finally finished! And it only took "a week or so" ROFL hysterically!! Aw what can you do? Life is what it is and I guess in spite of our aspirations you just can't fight it! *sigh* The one thing I can assure you of, is the lace is absolutely flawed with lots of miscounts and imperfect rows! However, I certainly hit a home run with the yarn, a Merino, Alpaca Quivit blend from Wild Geese. It was a perfect choice! It's lightweight but warm and baby-soft! I finished it with a picot edge and put a shiny foil lined bead in the tip of each picot. They don't really stand out but they add just a hint of glint. I recruited a model to show you 3 different ways I can wear it...

First is the "standard" bunched around the neck. The ribbing looks tight but it's knit so loosely I had to pull it back into ribbing after I washed it. You hardly know it's there!

If I wear it in my office I'm more likely to wear it like this, as a capelet. It covers all the parts of me that tend to complain about any chill, especially my upper chest. It's so feather-light but just right for what I need!

And if I ever go off my nut and decide to "go glam" I'll give it a 180 and wear it like this. My daughter was SO amused! The things she has to do to please her mother! LOL!! But really, I think she looks great in it.... too bad I won't part with it!
It was a pretty good feeling to finish it - even if it DID take... well, a lot longer than I expected. So I turned my attentions to my Pi shawl.... but I think I'll save that story for tomorrow! Cheers all!
