Friday Freebies - Unique Knit Cardis

To reflect the slightly off kilter blogging lately I thought I would feature slightly unusual knits for the Friday Freebies, starting with Bascom a sideways knit cardi from Berocco. Simple lines and clean symetrical silouette make it a wardrobe staple and your choice of yarns can make it a classic! I love the tonal blue semisolid they used. It adds visual interest without completely overwhelming it. It highlights the vertical lines of the sideways knit without making it loud and obnoxious.

With a less tailored more casual look the Buckland cardi also from Berocco is also a sideways knit. Because of it's simplicity I think you could really use an over-the-top art yarn (yes I know that would be expensive... but...) or something plush like a cashmere blend or 100% Alpaca since shape memory would not be an issue here. The big for sure is that I would change the color!

And to round out a Berocco trio is the Taina cardi which, although it is not a sideways knit is full of texture, lace, shaping and a whole load of feminine style! Again the color is drab but forgivable if it was a natural brown. I could also picture this in stunning white, soft peach or a cool spring pastel mint.
So enjoy and be inspired! Cheers all!
