Plush Accessories Friday Freebies

I feel like I should apologize for the dearth of posts this week. I've been away a couple days this week and then playing catch-up with work when I'm back. It also doesn't help that this is the busiest month of the year for me for work - not that I'm complaining - I sincerely wish every month was like this! *sigh* (yes, in spite of the bookkeeping!)
Hopefully some really nice Friday Freebies will help make up for it!

For starters, here's the Fabulous Fringe Scarf from Caron Naturally. in spite of being called a scarf it's not a rectangle and all that plush fringe gives it an air of opulence! Done up in chunky yarn it's also a make-in-a-weekend project. What an awesome gift it would be for someone with a birthday in fall or winter... assuming you're willing to part with it....

If you're looking for something a little more mindless how about this Seasonless Scarf from Lion Brand? It's a very simple crochet stitch which automatically means a "Zen" get-into-the-rhythm sort of project and the scope for yarns is limitless! What are you looking for? Something delicate and slinky? How about a high percentage silk blend in a fine gauge with beads? Fast and smooshy? Bulky Merino with an even more oversize hook to give it a soft thick texture. Handspun - of course! Or some special Indy dye yarn in a wild thick 'n thin with ribbons and tinsel? Hmmm.....

Saving the dazzle for last, feast your eyes on Loken by Berroco! This cowl has had me drooling since the first moment I laid eyes on it! It just has to be either chenille or baby-bottom soft Merino/silk to give it that plush velour decadence. I wouldn't dream of blurring the fabulous design with a halo from something like Mohair or Cashmere. Barring any of those I'd spring for 100% silk and bead it everywhere I could for over-the-top bling! I don't think it's possible to dress this up too much! Now to research some irresistible bribes for my resident crocheters... LOL! Cheers all!

I crochet -- I am on very good terms with our postal folks....

Just sayin. I can be bribed pretty easily.
