What's New Off The Wheel 2

Of course I didn't stop at just one bundle of Alpaca! I also bought this blend of neon lime green with 2 browns. It seemed to be such a happy bright color I just couldn't resist! I spun it pretty much the same as the yellow blend, for a 2-ply. I also wound it off the bobbin into a center pull ball to ply from both ends at once. For some unknown reason it slid up off the ball winder so it wasn't a very pretty ball, to say the least!

I did manage to ply it with only a minimum of tangle so it was a relief to be done. I also wanted to mention that when I washed the finished skein the water was pretty dirty. This is a good thing by the way, since it's a sign of minimal processing which means I can expect the fiber has retained the very best of it's qualities and will, in turn, result in a superior finished item. There was also slightly more of this than the yellow, 5.6 oz, 220 yds of 2-ply, also a chunky-ish weight. I really like how the colors become a less rigid tweed with a softer more random look.
