New Issue of YarnMaker

This issue features an article on blending cashmere with other fibers and shows a knitted sampler where you can plainly see the difference in each of the yarns. There's one on understanding your wheel better with several drive band knots I think will come in handy!
The article on Whitefaced Woodland sheep has me seriously considering ordering a fleece - or worse - getting my own flock! (gosh I miss my sheep!) Somehow I doubt they're available for import but it's certainly a pleasant fantasy and in mid-February those are always a good thing!
There's also a mini-lesson on making art yarn that took a really bits 'n pieces approach that surprised me. I had never thought about trying that before just to ensure a certain color effect.
There was also an article written by a Spinning Millright (?) that really fascinated me. I doubt such a thing is ever represented on Career Day at school but there's a lot more that goes into running that machinery than you might think. One has to apprentice and everything! And what an awesome job!
So my sales pitch for this magazine is that it's not slick and ultra-professional but I wouldn't want it to be! To subscribe or purchase single issues, go to Yarnmaker.co.uk . Cheers all!
