PhatFiber January Box - Chinese New Year

What a cheery parcel to open on a nasty windy February day! Lots of shiny gold and bright red! This month's packaging was exceptionally "on-theme"! All the business cards and coupons came in the bright red Chinese Food take out box, complete with chopsticks in a red paper sleeve! Can you see MY business card, (white and green) in the center of the photo? Although my cards totally "missed" the color theme, if you recall my lucky money and rabbit stitch markers, I think I pretty much nailed it! What I want, is for every person who gets my item once, to be hoping to get it again next box. Although WineMakersSister is pretty tough to beat, I'd say my stitch markers give hers some decent competition and so far, they are steady sellers in my shop which I find very encouraging!

A cornucopia of color and texture with several surprises! I liked the packaging much better this month! Nobody put theirs in a Chinese Puzzle Box (whew! I'm terrible at those!) and only a couple came in Chinese Food take out boxes. I really favor packaging that you can see through so that the colors and texture beckon. The red drawstring bag (far left) was nice too, especially because the strings weren't tied and the bag could just be slid open.
I thought that this time I would do better photos and show you my favorites! This box I was absolutely delighted to find I was one of the lucky ones who got a shawl pin from Galia's Spindle Designs ! These are hand hammered and stiff. Although tiny it will work great for a fine gauge small shawl!

Just one of those things you can never have too many of - and even though I make them, I own very few!
Here are my favorites from the January box! First Prize for innovation in display goes to Sheepy Knitty , who, in addition to having a kickass sample of superwash BFL decided to roll it into a Chinese Tangerine which symbolizes Luck, Abundance and Fortune. The green pipe-cleaner stem was the perfect embellishment!
Runner Up in Item Display is Gale's Art whose gorgeous and slinky sample of 100% Tussah Silk was braided and embellished to be a dragon. The colors look SO like the colors I imagine on dragons and the little paper head and feet she made are just perfect! Pure genius!
My second two favorites are purely for the samples themselves! "Fireworks" by the Critter Ranch is a downy soft blend of Llama, Firestar, Angelina, Bamboo and BFL. The fiber is as soft as the colors are beautiful! Mmmm!
Dragon Dance from Beckylicious came in an easy-open take out box and is an amazing combo of Merino, Bamboo, Firestar and sari silk. She also included a coupon code : Dragon  for 15% off your next purchase (yes, you can use it!). Her choice of pink/orange/green reminds me more of fireworks than dragons but I love how they look together and feel! I am looking forward to play-spinning with this soon!

I had signed up to be notified when the boxes went on sale, but didn't get an e-mail. I have signed up again, so maybe next month. Thanks for sharing though. Those are some beautiful things to enjoy. I think yours are the best though.
