Friday Freebie Afghans!

Since the temperatures are still well into minus, I thought that now would be the right time to share some afghan patterns. There's nothing nicer than sitting with your lap full of cozy woollen goodness to watch a movie or hockey game!

This is Autumn Leaves from our friends at Lion Brand. Although it looks like a modular knit (strips) it isn't. It's knit side to side with a simple Seed stitch border. What's more, it's designed for chunky or bulky yarn so it's a quick knit PLUS the lace pattern means it won't weigh a ton when you're done. I even love the color they chose - although I think a tame tweed or heathered yarn would perk it up just a bit too.

I just couldn't resist the bright cheery colors of this Pennsylvania Dutch Throw from Caron Naturally. Crochet it in just about any weight you'd like but it's absolutely designed to be impossible to ignore in your decor! That checkerboard border and large motifs are so fun and lively - how could anyone nap under this? LOL! Loud and proud is the order of the day with this throw!
