Finally! Ishbel Complete!

So here it, my completed Ishbel by Ysolda Teague from her book Whimsical Little Knits:

Knit in my own handspun superwash BFL, heavy worsted weight. I knit the small version which turned out quite big because I used heavier yarn and larger needles than the pattern. I finished the shawl, skipping the second last pattern repeat and went straight to casting off and had about 3 yards left! All knit from one big skein - NO knots, NO joins! Win for handspun!
I loved that the top is just stockingette because I could do other things, like watch a movie while knitting but I hated that I had to purl every second row! LOL!! The lace part along the bottom was fairly simple (read: good for lace-noob me) so it actually turned out pretty much correct.... just don't look too closely at the left edge lace, for some reason that's where I always seemed to find I was one stitch short. I figure I must have missed a yarn over fairly consistently somewhere in the last few repeats.
And it fits wonderfully! That gentle curve that just wraps around your shoulders so it stays in place - SO much nicer than a plain triangular shape! I can hardly wait 'til she gets it! Fingers crossed!

This shawl turned out really great! I love the yarn, the colors. I agree about the shape. I find that normal triangular shawls don't stay on that easy, but I still love to knit them. I often miss a yO too, then I just pick up the thread between two stitches. I don't mind the purl rows. What's next on your to knit list? More lace?

That is absolutely beautiful! You have one lucky friend. I have to chime in and second that the gentle curve makes a shawl perfect. I need to finally make one.

It looks fantastic! I especially love that you knit it from your own Handspun.
