Busy Busy Busy

I hope you missed me yesterday! I've just been very busy! I decided to do like everybody else and join the Black Friday Sale bandwagon so I programmed a store-wide discount for my SHOP using the new Etsy On Sale app. It kicks in tomorrow at 6 p.m. and runs until 1 a.m. Saturday - everything 15% off. So I figured if I was going to try to generate some traffic I should maybe put a few new things in the shop...

Like these new spindles? The 3 on the right are small lace weight spinners and the left one is for medium weight. I did my usual and made quite a few of them. It's so much easier to make multiples of single items plus then I only have a few to photograph and list instead of having to take photos of a whole lot of different ones.

After that I got some plying done, tweeds mostly, 2-ply with colored Romney and heathered brown Corriedale. I've had these fibers kicking around my stash for so long it was nice to finally so something with them! I'll post more info on them tomorrow once I've calculated the yardage, plus more pics.

And the last job I tackled - although I'm not sure I'll get it all finished before the sale starts - is blending some batts of Alpaca with fine South African wool. The fiber is pillowy soft and should spin like a dream. I've had a big bag of the combed top getting in the way in my office for so long now it will seem odd for it to be gone! LOL! About the only thing I don't like about carding is that it takes a long time to get it done. I guess I'm a bit of a speed freak and I just think it shouldn't take so long to transform a pound or two of fiber but since my carder only makes 1 oz batts I'll have to resign myself...
So now you know why I didn't have the time or energy to post yesterday! Cheers all!

    Hi Monica,
I know whenever I am going use my Fancicard that it will take several hours to get enough batts for my project!
