Twist and Little Knits and other misdemeanors

An email announcing the newest Twist Collective is always a welcome sight in my Inbox! The new designs are always so inspiring!

How about this beautiful Trefoil hat and mitts set? Such a clever stitch design! I'm such a nut for anything that evokes the "traditional" aran. It isn't just the color of the wool, either! It's the textures stitch designs. To me, it's so timeless - no matter what the style era it will always hold it's own!

This is Inkberry, a spectacular shawl by Sylvia Harding, in this latest collection. In addition to a beautifully functional shaping, it also has textured stitches and beading! I think what I liked best was that it lends itself well to a tonal variegated yarn so there's a pleasing visual  combination going on. The "plain" areas aren't so plain and the textured areas don't drown. Have you figured out yet that I bought this pattern? LOL!! And it gets worse - I also bought yarn to knit it with! (like I needed to do that!) Meet Santa Fe from LittleKnits ...

85% Merino/15% Polyamide it should have spectacular drape. It was (I thought) a real bargain at $31 for a bag of 10 skeins for a total of over 1800 yards! There really are days when I think being on the internet is not good for me! Ha ha!! Never mind, it's a project I know I will (eventually) complete because it isn't all yarn overs and SSK's! So I hope you're heading over there now - even if none of the patterns grab you there's lots to read and enjoy! Their new  online magazine format really does function like a magazine. The side bars flip the pages for you with a single click and the layout pics are gorgeous!
The other thing I ticked off the "To Do" list this weekend was adding a couple new things to my sidebars (I SO hate playing with html...) Once I get the photo done I'll be adding a surprise contest! Cheers all!
