Gorgeous Wool Afghan!

It took me nearly a year to accumulate it, but I finally bought enough Madil Pierrot from (you guessed it!) Little Knits for a blanket. I bought a few skeins every couple of months. It wasn't retail, thank goodness, as retail is $30 a skein, it was just 10.50. YES! That's why I shop at Little Knits !
Anyways, DD#1 crocheted it into a "personal" size blanket for me to keep me extra toasty this winter. (Again with the complaining it smelled a bit like sheep! Sheesh! What was she expecting from wool??) It took a total of 10 skeins and although it looks like a really bulky wool the finished blanket is surprisingly lightweight. I think the colors would have looked more like confetti if it had been knit but I simply didn't have time to make it myself. What's more, being singles (a one-ply yarn), I think it will have better durability from being crocheted.

It's certainly not as flashy as her usual projects but then I'm going to be using it in my own bed so it's not like I'm trying to impress anyone! LOL!! It's just a plain-Jane double crochet without any edging or ornamentation and I couldn't be happier with it! 100% wool for a cozy night's sleep! Cheers all! B)
