Small Project Friday Freebies

I thought I'd take a break from garments and share some free patterns for beautiful but useful things! One of my favorite ways to elevate things from every day ordinary to something special, is lace edging. This versatile Allegoro Napkin edging comes from Classic Elite and is designed by Andi Clark. I can see it on so many other things besides napkins! Try it in fine silk or better yet, linen - it will block and hold it's shape like there's no tomorrow! Put it along the bottom edge of your next cardigan project.... oh the possibilities!

How about something more practical and sturdy than lace? Lion Brand has an excellent pattern for a bath set consisting of a mat and hot water bottle cover. Make them in a nice easy care cotton! Better yet, knit them in a bulky gauge superwash wool! Durability and absorbency! The loop stitch for the bath mat is easy to do once you get the hang of it and the pattern makes it easy to adapt it to any size you'd like, so long as it's a square or rectangle.
