Knit Forever Sweater Progress and Draw Winners

As promised, this is a random update on my Knit Forever Sweater. And yes, it is still taking forever to knit! LOL! 3.5mm needles - what was I thinking??

This is the main body of the sweater with a minimalist 4x1 ribbed hem. I started it while in the waiting room for the doctor with my son. 5 hours later I had about 3" knit. I was getting that, "This IS going to take forever..." feeling again but, as with most knit-in-the-round projects, once I got past that first hump, it seemed to go faster. I suspect that's partly because as the project gets heavier it slides more easily around the circular. Also, the stitches just seem to move more freely the more fabric there is between them and the hem.
I am really enjoying how the yarn seems to encompass various shades of gray. I was aware of this in the roving as I spun the yarn but I never dreamed it would knit up with this much contrast and I'm really pleased with it! I just love it when something unexpected comes out in spades like that! Now I feel really justified in having the main body & sleeves knit in stockingette instead of something textured. It really shows off the shifting shades of gray.
The only other thing you might notice in the picture is that the "huge" center-pull ball of gray is looking pretty much gutted and there's still quite a bit of the gray part of the sweater to knit. Imagine my joy as I mulled this over, as I knit, knowing I didn't have any more of either yarn or fiber and then found out that Barb at Wild Geese is also out of the gray Cotswold roving.... Yes, it started looking like the typical Lazy Knitter rock-and-a-hard-place sort of problem until I posted the 500th post Give Away...
Maybe I'm not your typical blogger but I actually check out the blogs of people who leave comments. I like to get to know at least a little about my visitors if they give me a chance. That's how I found Wooly Wool of the West who blogs and farms sheep in south western Sask and sells fleece and wool from her flock in her Etsy Shop where - wonder of wonders - I found/purchased more gray Cotswold fiber to spin! Amazing, wouldn't you say? And that's not the end of it - my 8 yr old also pulled her name out of the jar for the 500th post draw and she won the book! Jan L won the sock yarn. Yes, I have emailed both winners - Congratulations! They say real life is stranger than fiction - they weren't a kiddin'!! Hahahahahahaha! Cheers all!
