Three Finished Skeins

I am pleased to present the three finished skeins! From left to
right, the locks which I chain plied (navajo), the very crimpy dark
brown plied with the marled light brown/ecru, and the very crimpy
white, plied with itself.
The locks are the coarsest of the skeins with a smooth, almost glossy
sheen. It reminded me very much of the Cotswold I spun recently. Even
though it's a 3-ply it is only a worsted weight, 2.4 ounces and 106
yards.

The tweedy blend of the dark brown and marled fibers turned out
surprisingly soft and lofty due to the effervescent crimp. A full 3
ounces, worsted weight and 160 yards.

My favorite of the three is the white which I made a 2-ply. Also
surprisingly soft and lofty (amazing what a thorough wash can do)
this one is a bit slubby due to the high crimp but I plied it more
loosely than I usually do and the reward was the plump, smooshy
texture. Also a worsted weight, 2.7 ounces and 140 yards.
Funny how things turned out! I was as surprised by the stiffness of
the yarn the locks became as I was by the softness of the very crimpy
fiber yarn. I had expected the opposite. I guess it just goes to show
what I know about fleece! LOL! All in all it's been a pleasant
diversion... more on that next post! Cheers all!

I am loving the squishy white. What slubs? My finished product should be so slubby and I'd be quite pleased with myself! Kudos!

So nice of you to think so! LOL!! It was such crimpy clingy stuff I doubt anybody could have made a smooth uniform singles with it! One of those times when you really appreciate how much difference there is from one fiber to another!
