Pastel Violas Fresh Off the Bea

Last summer I purchased several odd lots of superwash Merino from the
Sweet Sheep at their clearance sale. Since I'm not overly fond of
small lots of yarn I combined several 4 ounce lots of greens and
purples. The colors reminded me of the violas in my flower beds.
There were lots of patches of white in the dyed top so the singles
and the finished yarn came out as pale pastels mostly. Being Merino
it's smooshy soft and I really enjoyed spinning it up. I would just
spin a piece of one , then a piece of the other so it will knit up
into random stripes.

I chain plied it (navajo) to preserve the colors and much to my
amazement, ended up with 2 skeins of almost identical weight and
yardage so my spinning consistency has come a loooong way! Each skein
is approx 8 ounces and just over 400 yards. I am pleased to say that
one bobbin on my Bea held an entire 8 ounce skein! Nice!

As I have said so many time before, much as I enjoy spinning the
yarn, there isn't much point in keeping everything. I will likely
never knit anything with this so I listed it in my Etsy Shop (where I
haven't sold anything in months) and then did some other tweaking
things to it. Before I left the shop I wanted to see the public view.
When I went to my shop I couldn't see the Pastel Violas I had just
listed anywhere. Odd, I thought, listing is so straightforward, how
did I mess that up? So I went back to my shop set-up and found that
in the 5 minutes since I had listed it, someone had come to the shop
and bought both skeins! I was absolutely blown away! Some days you
just never know what will happen, eh? It certainly made MY day!
Cheers all!
