Friday Freebie From the Archives

It's always sad when something good on the internet is no more but it seems to be the case with Knittingwisdom.com . I don't know why it's not there anymore, it just isn't. There were lots of free things there for knitters, much like Knittingonthenet.com, stitch patterns, projects etc. Maybe there wasn't enough traffic and they couldn't keep their advertisers... who knows. I am especially thankful that I printed out a number of pages from the site, being aware of the transient nature of things on the web - especially free ones! Which brings me to what I wanted to share with you today - one of my all-time favorite decorative rib stitches from the now-defunct site, the Cat's Eye Rib. It's one of those really great stitches which has the benefits of rib and the decorative plus of lace. It's a simple and fairly self-obvious repeat which has adorned many a pair of socks I've knit!

Row 4: Repeat Row 2

As always, to print this post, click on the Comments button. It will take you to a page where there is only this post. There is an itty bitty "Printer" icon which will let you print this post without any of the sidebar stuff. I recommend you print it and add it to your pattern library... you never know how long it will be around....

Love simple patterns like this, can just work them on autopilot after a few repeats.
    Thanks for sharing!
