Well That Didn't Take Long....

Time flies when you're having fun, so they say! My chunky knit mystery yarn scarf sure didn't take long to finish. That's part of the beauty of chunky knits - you don't have time to get bored with the project before it's finished! It made me realize how quickly I've grown accustomed to knitting with finer gauge yarns! Amazing! And somehow, it isn't really a scarf so much as a narrow wrap! Ha! Ha!

It blocked out to be quite a bit wider than I expected but it's so soft and the open pattern makes it fairly light in spite of the chunky yarn. I folded the ends in half and sewed them together to make pouches for cold hands (that's why the ends are pointed). It's long enough to be worn as a scarf, or over your head and around your shoulders, or as a wrap around your shoulders with your hands in the end. I suppose it could even be worn over your lap with your toes tucked in the pouches. Sort of a multi-function piece. Sure hope the recipient likes it! I'll let you know after Christmas!
I got DD#2 (as usual) to model it for me. There's enough hanging down her back to wrap easily around her head, or around her neck once. As I said, it's a generous size, which hopefully will make it useful....
This week seems to be "finish it" week so there will be more pictures to post soon! Cheers!
