Post #400 - Jacob Skeins Complete!

Finished at last! My beloved Jacob sheep wool skeins!

Yes, the camera wars are still ongoing! (top photo - new camera, bottom photo, old camera - GGGGRRRRR!!)

Anyways, here's the stats: Approx 680 gm (yes, only 680!!) a total of approx 1,116 yds over 4 skeins (that's 3,348 yds of singles!!), 3 ply, chain plied and it comes out to an average of worsted weight - perfect for a winter sweater. I couldn't be more pleased!!

*** And since this is post #400 all comments will be put into a draw for the skein of hand-dyed sock yarn.
BTW, it is NOT necessary to 'praise the spinning' LOL!! A comment of any kind will qualify you for entry, OK? I will make the draw next Saturday to give my readers time to catch the draw!

Lovely yarn. I love gray wool, and brown wool, and black wool, and blue wool, and... you get the picture.
    Nice job.

Well, it is a lovely gray and your spinning is far more uniform than mine. I have yet to try the Navaho plying.
Seems like one humongus chain of single crochet. The sweater will certainly be warm with the three ply.

I've been gone and still have house guest so am behind on reading. I see you have been busy and I think the Grey is pretty but then I Like Grey. Looks like you've been busy lately.

I'm in awe of all that Jacob! And to think it's 3 ply, whew. Congrats on your 400th post, as if the previous spinning didn't indicate your firm stick-to-it-tivness

These two colors of wool will look great in a warm Winter sweater for you.Yes, I sure hope that you get to use the wool since you went to the trouble of spinning it.I can't wait to see what you'll make with this.

Too funny! I came here from the Harlot's blog and you're talking about Jacob wool. I just spent Saturday at a farm in Texas called Jacob's Reward and that's her goal..to have many many of them. Great time was had and I think that wool you've spun was lovely. Wish I could spin like that!

Well, I might not HAVE to comment on the spinning but I'm going to anyway. Lovely job, and it looks like it will have that lovely Jacob bounce. Can't wait to see what you knit from it.
