Sweetie Pie Crochet Project!

DD#2 has completed what I think is a fairly ambitious project for a beginning toy maker - a sweet little stuffed bear! He's 8" tall seated. She tried 4 times before she got two identical legs! Kudos to her for perseverance! Talk about a lesson in gauge! Her stitch counts were identical but I think it was pretty obvious if she was tired or not when she was stitching by the various tensions she ended up with! She made nice tight seams and stitches for eyes in black yarn. This is a nice safe bear! Haven't decided who it will go to yet... it's washable and soft, just right for a little one!

Looks like the cute little bear is waving. How old is DD#2? I teach reading to 7th and 8th graders and have lots of kids coming in at lunch to make loopy scarves and they are spinning yarn as well. Not ready for reading patterns yet. I wanted them to enjoy a finished scarf before getting into other stitches and patterns.
Early on, I started designing and knitting all my dolls and stuffed animals' sweaters and had stash back then come to think of it. A bag of odds and ends from Mom's and my projects that became little sweaters.

That is very cute! Probably very washable too unlike some manufactured soft toys. Lovely job DD#2!
