Clematis Vine Done!

After I finished spinning (read de-hairing) the Clematis Vine BFL superwash I had quite a grudge and couldn't bring myself to ply it until the very end. I finally said to myself that I needed the bobbins empty and there wasn't anything else I could do... in retrospect this was very sad because I really loved the colors, I had been admiring them in the online shop absolutely forever and I was so excited when I finally had it in my hands....
I put off the job until Sunday and sat the whole afternoon and finished it ALL! And you know, as the job progressed, I started to soften up again towards this white-t-shirt-&-black-leather-jacket hoodlum. Having the panoply of complimentary hues sliding through my fingers slowly brought back to me why I bought it in the first place and by the time I was done the second skein I had completely forgiven it for it's hidden evils. True, after I took it off the skein winder I could still pick the odd guard hair out of it and there are a few fuzzy sections I'm not too happy with, but over all it actually turned into a pretty yarn!

This shot is fairly close color-wise, except the white doesn't look very white. My spinning is becoming more consistent though and that always feels good. Between the 2 skeins is 12 ounces of superwash Blue Faced Leicheshire. One skein is 255 yds, the other is 275 yards (total of 530 yds). It should knit up into a heavy worsted weight or slightly lighter as it's fairly fluffy. Can't say I'm in any hurry to cast it on... I think I'll just enjoy liking it again for a while before I use it in a soon-to-go-awry project! LOL!!

I think it is very even ( compared to mine) and I do like the colors even though they show as two very different colors. BTW, my kitchen is in green and eggplant, so I'm prejudiced. It will tell you what it wants to be in due time. Meanwhile, I'm working on freeing up the three new Woolee Winder bobbins I recently got.

I can't lie - I always look for the best part to take a photo but I admit I am getting better! It helps that this is 3-ply because your yarn diameter is an average of the 3 singles being plied together. It would be less even if it was only a 2 ply - and don't even ask about the singles!! LOL!!
I'm SO envious of your Woolee Winder!! They don't make it for my wheel - sigh! If they did I'd buy one in a heartbeat!!

It looks gorgeous! Do you know I have bought sock yarn called "Clematis" and it looks just like your yarn! I can't remember where I bought it, and where it is in my stash right now, but seeing your yarn, reminded me of it. I'm glad you like it again. :o)
