Lace Mini-Shawl Finished!

The yarn is a luxury skein of cashmere/alpaca blend from Wild Geese which I dyed myself and the pattern is from the book, Knitter's Review: Shawls and Scarves - and it's the absolute smallest project on the second-to-last page of the book! LOL!! That's how courageous I was!! I didn't finish it according to the pattern though. They wanted 2 tie-strings knit almost like i-cord to tie it on like a kerchief - not my thing! Instead I knit one row of YO, K 2 together to more or less finish the triangle of holes and then knit the rest in a broken rib/moss stitch so the top would lie flat and not curl. With the variegation in the yarn it doesn't really show, which is fine. I blocked it on a chair cushion - as you can see it barely fit but it dried nice and flat anyways. With this small victory under my belt I have picked up my beloved Swallowtail Shawl... which I'll detail in another post, OK? This is about all the energy I have left today! LOL!!

Looks great! Chalk up a finished project for the new year!

Your mini shawl looks lovely! I like the modifications you made. Small shawls around the neck like scarves get used more often in my case. The Swallowtail shawl will fly off your needles now, you'll see. :o)

The mini shawl is gorgeous, and I'll bet the Cashmere / alpaca is softer than a baby's skin
