Charlie Gets a Little Sister

I couldn't bear to see the pile of left-over yarn barf after ripping poor old Charlie! It had the same forlorn appearance as a plucked chicken! I just had to get that bumpy mass back onto some needles and give it back it's life - so heartlessly ripped away! Just think of those poor stitches, all happily lined up, expecting to enjoy a happy, useful existence on someone's head, only to be rejected and de-formed!! Not only that but it still wore all those beads I had strung! LOL!
I was pretty sure there was enough yardage left so I bravely cast on enough stitches for one lace pattern repeat plus a 4-garter stitch edge. I decided against a dense bead row. This was going to be a lighter weight item! I knit until there was a long enough tail to join my live stitches to the cast on edge. Then I washed it gently. There was enough relax to make it exactly the right size! (whew! LOL!!) Voila! A dual purpose Headband/Neck warmer! Now Charlie is a set! (Yes, that means there was quite a bit of yardage on that skein!)

That turned out beautifully! Who would have guessed such a pretty product could come out of such plain yarn.
