I Was a Very Good Girl - Not!

As I've said so many times before - the only way to get what you want is to buy it yourself! LOL!! So in addition to the stash enhancement I bought from Wild Geese I also got this limited time offer Book Bundle from Interweave!

I really wanted the boxed set of pattern cards, the Knitter's Companion and Knit Fix (gee, can't imagine why I wanted THAT book!) LOL!! The retail cost of just those 3 items was almost the same as the whole Bundle!! PLUS I got a Knitting Daily tape measure and a DVD set of Knitting Daily TV AND an awesome heavy canvas knitting tote!! It's got pouches, needle slots, a zippered pocket, a carrying handle as well as a strap! PLUS 2 back issues of Interweave Knits (that I didn't have) and a back issue of KnitScene, It Itches (knitting cartoon book), Scarf Style and a 4 CD set called Knitting Memories from Knitting Out Loud. This was one sweet deal!!

And what Christmas would be complete without something completely unnecessary?? Like more hand-painted Merino superwash top??? It's from The Sweet Sheep. They had an inventory reduction sale recently because they're going dual-country. They will have an outlet in both Canada & the US and want to make the inventory more uniform so all the odds & ends were discounted 10%. It was nice to shop in CDN$ and have a low shipping cost (compared to US$ at Susan's Spinning Bunny) but I can't see myself purchasing from them again. Even with the discount her stuff was pretty pricey and when they go dual the CDN prices aren't going to go down to be on par with the US prices, if you know what I mean. There's some really nice complimentary colors here so I'm planning to spin it alternately into a fairly big batch instead of a bunch of small skeins. In case you haven't noticed, I'm more "large project" oriented and there's nothing worse than running out of yarn when you're almost done!! (Boy could I tell you stories about that!). Anyways, these were my fiber Christmas gifts ... I wonder.... is that why they call it the "Haul-idays"?  tee hee! Cheers all!
