December Fiber "Fix"

Merry Christmas to me! Barb at Wild Geese had an end-of-the-year sale so I treated myself to a little luxury! Her last 5 skeins of Soay/Alpaca blend yarn! It's SO silky, downy soft! I know I have enough now for a sweater (for me, of course!). Soay is a rare breed sheep. Their wool is a downy undercoat - a perfect match for Alpaca!

My other "spoil me" was to increase my stash of her lovely Cotswold in an Aran weight. This has got to be high-end Cotswold - a breed not known for "Merino-type" wool. It is surprisingly soft and has such a lustrous sheen to it. If I didn't know the breed of the wool beforehand I think it would be hard to identify! I'm going to make an Aran cardigan, I think - and I just might try a steek so I can knit it in the round....
