Blogiversary Bonanza!!!

***Contest now closed - winners have been emailed! Thank-you to everyone who entered!! ****
It's my second Blogiversary - yes, I'm a blogging baby - but I wanted to make it really spectacular!! I've decided to offer some REALLY great prizes too! You just have to guess a number. This year I'm going to get some randomly generated numbers from random.org instead of coming up with them myself and award the prizes to the corresponding comments. All YOU have to do is leave a comment WITH A NUMBER BETWEEN 1 and 500 and mention one of your Dirty Little Knitting Secrets. Oh c'mon now - I KNOW you all have at least ONE! You don't have to confess to the worst/most embarassing one - I mean, once you spill the beans it's not a secret any more, right???
Let me make it easy - I'll go first! Here's my secret (unless you've already guessed). I know you're all well entertained by my knitting & dyeing misadventures... but what makes it onto the blog is only the stuff I'm not too embarrassed to admit to - you have no idea just how deep the "oh my gosh!" goes here, project-wise!! (now wasn't that easy?). So here's the list of goodies to guess for. If there's any prize you DON'T want, please mention it in your comment, OK? ***HINT - you have better odds of winning if you don't pick the same number as someone else!
I decided a number of small prizes was better than a couple of large ones, that way more people can win! Here's the list of prizes, in no particular order:

One superb skein of "Plum Lovely" Socks! Naturally by Wild Geese Fibres and a copy of Eunny Jang's (free) Bayereische Socks pattern. This skein has enough yardage to make a calf-length pair of socks. (20% Alpaca, 30% Lincoln, 50% Corriedale).
One 9" Top Whorl beginner's spindle and 2 ounces of Corriedale wool top (plus instructions). Why not learn to spin this year? (or give it to an eager beaver you know!).

One copy of Knitbliss from A to Z - A Knitter's Abecedarius by Barbara Benjamin Haines, exclusively available from her Etsy Shop (the purchase link on her website will take you there)

Two single prizes of two skeins of Cherry Tree Hill supersock - enough to make a pair of socks. I realized this yarn is waaaay too fine for me to ever make socks out of it! LOL!!

One "So Much Yarn So Little Time" mug so you can take even more time away from knitting by making tea!!
One brand new copy of Folk Socks by Nancy Bush. How did I end up with 2 copies?? One never knows...

Happy 2nd Blogiversary to Me!!!!

My knitting secret is that i've got so much wool in my stash that my hubby doesn't even know about and it's safe to keep it that way....lol. I will gladly take the first or second prize if I should happen to Win as I enjoy knitting and wouldn't mind learning how to spin this year. My number would be lucky number 7 as that's my due date of baby number two. Thanks and hope to hear from you.

Hi again! My knitting secret is to use sticky notes on graphs and patterns. I especially use them on fair-isle graphs to mark what line I'm on. I pick number 232.

I would be tickled to death to win any of the prizes!! My knitting secret is that sometimes at work,I eat lunch in my car, just to have some uninterrupted knitting time to myself! The number I am choosing today is 112, as that is my grandson's birthday and he will be one year old in just a few days!

Congratulations on your blogiversary! Maybe one of these days... My secret is that I knit a beautiful sweater that is still in pieces. When I started to sew the sleeves in, I discovered that they weren't going to fit the holes! So I wrapped everything together and stuck it in the closet. I just read on ravelry that you should block the pieces and put it together before it is dry so that you can stretch the pieces to fit. Maybe in 2009 I'll go back and try that! I choose 427. Happy New Year to you!

My number is 11.
I tie knots in my knitting. Not all the time and in all places, but I do leave knots in my knitting. So there!
P.S. No books if I win a prize.

Hello Monica aka Gloria Patre! Happy New Year!!
My knitting secret is this. Generally, if I find a mistake I rip, rip, rip. But if I've put many an hour into a piece and find a wee mistake that can be "fixed" without ripping, I do so...with perhaps a little duplicate stitch or some other cosmetic surgery.
Neat question for your contest!!!
Best wishes,
Jenny

Hello again! I put my projects into large ziploc bags and then put them into my knitting bag. Keeps things from getting tangled up in the bag and each project is easy to find. My number is 126.

My number is 161. It is the sum of the ages of our 4 children, my husband and me.
My "secret" is that I try to make valid excuses to visit the local yarn shop just to pet the yarn! I love to touch those scruptuous fibers. Sometimes it gets to be too much for me and I end up buying way too much that just ends up in my stash.
The good news is that I've been working almost exclusively in my stash in the last year and making room for new. I'm hoping 2009 has a little more room for disposable income.
Would be thrilled with any of the prizes if I win.

Good morning,
My knitting secret is to not knit while watching a scary movie. I was knitting a thumb onto a mitten while watching a bad movie. THe next day, I found the thumb half on and mostly off.
My number is 336.
Thanks for a chance. I enjoy reading the other comments.

As for my dirty little knitting secret...well, I, uh, don't knit a gauge swatch. I do sometimes, but 9.9 out of 10 times, I don't.

OOps, forgot my secret ... I can shop anywhere for the best prices, but when it comes to yarn I am at a loss - I simply have NO willpower ... lovely soft, natural fibers are my weaknesses especially when certain colors. I have to avoid yarn shops if I know that I don't need yarn

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary! My chosen number is 19. My knitting secret is that I absolutely cannot wrap my brain around doing cables. I am so baffled and confused by the back and forth of it all. Maybe someday, but not anytime soon let me tell you. I would appreciate anything you chose to give, if I win, sans cables of course.

Happy Blogiversary! I have 2 secrets. First, I've never knit a guage swatch. (ever!!) Also, I find it impossible to pass up alpaca and I keep sneaking more and more of it into my stash. Sometimes I go in to my stash just to pet the alpaca. The RNG came up with #251 for me. Have a fun celebration!

dirty secret - can't pass up yarn on clearance at walmart, even if it something I hate to knit with (however I am improving and return stuff after a day or two)

Congrats on the anniversary, someday I will have a blog.....My deep, dark, lil secret is that I am a project junkie, I have so many patterns downloaded to my computer, always in search of the next new, neat book. On the bright side, I took a UFO to the New Years Eve party and almost finished a sock. My chosen number is 60, just passed that birthday.

I've discovered that my knit-on cast on is too tight for socks, so I do a simple cast of loops over the needle. My number is 38.

My dirty little secret is that I have more sock yarn than I could knit up in at least 6 years at my current rate of 25 or so pair per year. And apparently I still need more, because when people come to pick out yarn for socks, there's too much of it that I can't give up.
My lucky number is 213, so I'll use that. Happy New Year!

Happy Blogiversary!!!! I wish you many, many more.
I've been knitting for some time and have too many "dirty" secrets--unfinished sweaters lurking in their bags with needles and patterns, way too much yarn to knit in this lifetime. Yikes! I could go on on on but that's enough to enter me in the contest--and I feel bad enough admitting that much in writing.

Two sock secrets to get out in the open and off my chest. I started socks for my daughter-in-law for Christmas 2007 and they are still waiting for me to kitchner them done.and this one is a doozie. I always knit in the waiting room of my Dr. He appreciates and admires each project. I really wanted to take classes at Stitches and he swapped me a hand knit pair of alpaca socks for the Dr.s note to get out of work! Worked for both of us. # 215, please.
