Knitting Daily TV on DVD
Anyone on Interweave's emailing list has no doubt received ads for this DVD series. I actually purchased the set. Since my fiber-life currently revolves around knitting monster-thick work socks and not much else I thought I could sit and watch these programs while I knit.
Now let me begin by saying I was really excited about these DVDs. So many familiar names - so nice to put a face and a voice and a smile to them! So I sat down, and started watching. The first thing that happened was I was handed headphones by my sons who were in the same room. Apparently they like getting knitted things, just not hearing all about knitted things! D'oh! By the time I was half-way through the first show I was marveling that I had paid money for these DVDs!! It was a toss-up between falling asleep and waiting to see if they were going to say anything at all interesting!!! Eeeep! BUT - since I had purchased them and I wanted something to do while I knit, I kept watching. I'm SOOOOOO glad I did!!! It seems the first show was pretty much green-horn growing pains and as the series progressed and their confidence (and content) progressed the shows improved immensely! By the 6th show I found I was actualy learning things and looking forward to going online and downloading a couple of the free patterns for items featured on the show!
So - final review - 2 thumbs up!! Since these shows don't seem to be on any PBS channel I can access, even with satellite TV, I think they were worth buying! In fact I'm going to purchase the second set which will be available in early in January. Anyone who wants them for Christmas - they can be pre-ordered (pre-paid) NOW and will be shipped as soon as they become available. Just a little something to whisper in Santa's ear....
