A Small Indulgence
Is it possible to have too much of a good thing? I don't think so! LOL! Interweave had a buy 4 get one free sale on back issues of Spin Off so I did a little contents browsing and picked up these. Yes, you counted correctly - there are only 4 - the 5th one I ordered was sold out so I got a refund instead. A bit annoying but they can only update their website so fast.... As usual I am learning a lot. I think my favorite article so far is how to cast on without untwisting your yarn. I prefer a one handed knitted cast on for most projects - especially for toe-up socks - and having the yard come untwisted while you're casting on gets really annoying! Plus it makes the yarn weaker at a VERY vulnerable spot since the twist is what gives yarn it's strength. Apparently it's a classic problem with a knitted cast on (whew! At least it's not just ME!). I've page-marked it - I know I'll be referring back to it a lot until I get the hang of it!
Anyways, I am reading at a leisurely rate, like the box of candy you ration out to make it last longer, y'know? The Winter issue of Spin Off won't be out until after Christmas and that's still quite a ways away!
Spin Off is my very favorite magazine and I relish each and every page! The watercolors are lovely; you really captured the details of each wheel.
