And Next in Line....

The llama cria/silk skein is my finest spinning yet, weight-wise; 15 wraps per inch! 5 ounces, 268 yards, 2-ply. What am I going to do with it? Not a clue! It will just go into handspun stash. No point putting it in my Etsy shop - it cost me $56 for the batts and NO ONE is going to pay that kind of money for 268 yds of yarn! Hey! Wait a minute... I just did!!! Well done me! ROFL!! In my defense, it really was lovely to spin - an experience I really wanted.

Needless to say it took a lot of rinsing before all the "naturalness" came out of it. I would go so far as to say it actually changed color slightly! LOL! Would I buy more? Not likely. It's lovely stuff but too rich for my budget to buy enough to actually make something with. I get just as much pleasure spinning a nice soft alpaca or wool. In fact the next thing on the wheel, when I'm done all the plying, is some superb Cotswold fiber I got from Barb at Wild Geese. It's cloud-soft and SO inviting!

I loved spinning my Cotswold fiber, even though it was not too soft after plying. It was just prepared very well and spinning was a pleasure.
