Smaug's Treasure Socks: Two Feet

There's just something so effortless about heels by this method.... and once I get started I'm hard pressed to put it down until I'm done! Then, of course, I have to try it on!

I knit the leg about 1" higher than this and then set it aside..... and pretty soon it was joined by the second foot...

All things considered they're pretty tame-looking for Smaug's Treasure socks.... no really wild color transitions or fancy designs..... what can I say? I guess I'm just a bread 'n butter learner! LOL!!
The easy part's over - now it's time to put on my thinking cap and get down to the real work....

I've been peering at your socks to see what heel you're knitting but I can't tell for sure. Is it short rows? Please let me know. I 'm always on the lookout for more sock options.

It's a big secret! LOL!! Just kidding! I always make the no-wrap turned heel from Queen Kahuna's book Crazy Toes and Heels. I use the rings on a cord to mark my turns. It's fast and makes a perfect heel every time - quite remarkable, actually! I'll never make a flap heel again - too much work to pick up stitches and too much chance of holes. Just my experience though - I know others who say the exact oposite! LOL! If you're interested just Google the book title and you'll go to her site.

Would you believe that I have made many socks using Queen Kahuna's method yet didn't recognize it from the picture? Duh. I like it best for toe-ups too.
