Lacey Cotton Blend Poncho

I never expected it would be so long before I could post again! Whew! Monday I played hookie from work and went to the city to do yard work at my DS house - which of course, put me a day behind, which took 2 days to catch up from. While I was there I loaded up on some annuals for the borders & raised beds plus a few perennials to fill in the gap in my border where everything got destroyed when the plough cat went through to put in the new natural gas line last fall. (Ya, the lawn there looks great too! LOL!!) Yesterday I was more or less caught up at work so I spent 5 hours putting in all the plants - just in the nick of time as rain began to fall ... this morning the rain gauge says we got over half an inch so far - woohoo!
I'm SO happy to share with you my progress so far on this poncho! This first shot is pretty much what any lace project looks like on the needles:

A nondescript pancake shaped blob on a circular needle with a zillion stitch markers. BUT .... stretch it out and....

the pattern begins to emerge! The Horseshoe lace looks a bit like really big leaves or hearts. I'm finding it such an  easy  straightforward knit that the rounds just fly by! The pattern calls for 3 pattern repeats but I think I'll do a few more. I'm up to a 6mm needle now so the piece seems to knit up even faster. Gosh! Maybe I'll even have it finished in time to wear it before it snows!!! LOL!!
