Something NEW From HiyaHiya!
This is a package I've been so excited waiting for! In their last e-newsletter Y2Knit announced they now had 9" (yes! 9 inch!) bamboo circs!! Perfect for small socks, small sleeves, anything you want to knit in the round without DPNs. Of course I had to rush over and buy one (or two) of every size! They only carry small sizes - up to 3.25 mm. I bought 2.5mm, 2.75mm, 3mm & 3.25 mm. The tips are perfectly shaped for fine yarns and the joins are secure and smooth.
Now I appreciate that people with large-ish hands may not find this too exciting. But having rather small-ish hands I really LOVE my 4" DPNS and any of my circs that have short needles. Since I use circs almost exclusively for my large projects (read anything but socks) I prefer ones with short needles because I find them much more maneuverable and comfirtable for my small-ish hands. In fact I have a rather large-ish collection of straight knitting needles I NEVER use - really! I never use straight needles. In fact I find them painfully awkward. Anyways, I'm dying to try these little beauties since I don't have any small projects on the go (little boy socks & flamingo hat are done). So I'm perusing my sock yarns predatorially....
