A Real Gem From Barb!

A big thank-you to Barb for the link to a terrific online knitting calculator! I mentioned in my last post I was wondering if I had enough yardage to knit a moebus from my triple ply yarn and she posted this link in her comment for an online knitting calculator. The site has links to other online knitting calculators but this particular calculator is for rectangles - PERFECT!

I hope this is a big help to other spinners too! Making your own yarn is great - the only drawback is that it doesn't come with a ball label with gauge etc. - OK so that's really not much of a drawback if you know how to swatch! And handmade is SO much better! (Hmmm food for another post?) LOL! Enjoy all!

Barb sent me another link and I just couldn't keep it all to myself! She says this one is great for spinners, or yarn without ball bands like mill ends. Scroll down the page and there is a yarn gauge guide which tells you how many wraps per inch for different weights. The gallery items are really beautiful too!

    Thanks again Barb!

If you scroll down, there is a chart called "Yarn Guide" that gives wraps per inch as it relates to yarn weight. A lot of other handy stuff there too. Click on the gallery to see beautiful inspiring knitting while you are there too.
