I Needed Some Inspiration

In November I started working on some work socks for DH because most of his have holes and they are not worth salvaging. I work on them when he's at work so he doesn't know I'm making them - but his fast work on the swift tells me I think he's hoping, in fact even hinting that he'd like some more.
Anyways, I got one sock finished in pathetic time, I mean, I think I knit on everything else but these socks! Now the big day is less than 2 weeks away and I'm barely finished the heel of the second sock! Shame on me! I only have 2 pairs to go!! I don't particularly care for the yarn and what's more I am double stranding the heel and toe with Linen to reinforce them so it is quite stiff to knit those parts. I figured I needed some incentive to finish them - nothing like some new sock yarn to make you get the current project done, eh?
Now let me begin by saying it's been a while since I've bought yarn (Wild Geese yarn doesn't count, it's a necessity!) and this was irresistably priced at 50% off retail. I'm on the email newsletter list for Discontinued Brand Name Yarn and consider myself a fairly restrained shopper. Now that I spin, lots of yarns that might have enticed me before no longer do, so I read their emails with interest but no real appetite. Now in spite of all the socks I've knit the only 3 pair that are mine (ie; not 'borrowed' by DDs) are the red pair and grey pair I re-knit the cuffs on and the first pair I dyed & knit with Wild Geese sock yarn. Isn't that the way? Sooooo when DBNY had Wool in the Woods in their newsletter I bought some. Actually I bought 2 skeins first, then tried to order some more but the colors I had first ordered were sold out so had to settle for something different. The order was delayed also because they were taking pre-orders for sock yarn in a color that was nixed at the last moment by the company and offered for a deep discount. So here they are:

Across the top is the superwash Carribean Sunset, 4 skeins, enough for 2 pair, although Berroco had a superb lacey knee-high sock pattern called Ines that I printed out - it may use up all four skeins. BTW the link will go to the pdf download, OK?
The other skeins, from left to right are all Twin Twist by Wool in the Woods - 1 skein Indian Summer, 1 skein Serengeti, 2 skeins Tropical Storm, 1 skein Dusk in soft squooshy "Cherub" not Twin Twist, 1 skein Misty Moor and 1 skein Birches. NOW let's see those needles fly on the work socks!!
