An Early Christmas Present - at least it feels like one!

The first shot shows the threaded rod he bent to make the main shaft and crank handle. In true Possum Lake form he used black electrical tape on the handle to cover the threads! LOL! He slid a metal collar in the wooden upright so the threads on the crank wouldn't wear away the wood so it won't wobble from wear. The second shot shows the dowel firmly glued in place with wood-swell glue. No more bent-in pegs! YAY!!

Here are 2 full length shots. It's not fancy looking by any means but then again, good looks never got the job done! LOL! Here it is winding it's first skein! Lots of capacity and soooo easy to wind with now! I'll have to think of something really special to do for DH for Christmas for sure!

Wonderful skein winder! You are right, as long as it gets the job done, doesn't matter how it looks. It's nice to have a handy husband. The yarn looks great. And Navajo plying is not as hard as I thought it was. I needed to see, that I could use the other hand, and suddenly it was easy.
