EZ's Swedish Dubbelmossa Started

I've been itching to cast on a project with my Wild Geese Fiber yarns. Now that the Old Fashioned Cardigan is finally finished. I've started Elizabeth Zimmerman's Dubbelmossa from the videos I got recently. I'm using Wild Geese 70% Alpaca 30% Merino in all natural colors. It's buttery soft but the whole project, yarn (fingering weight) and needles (3.25 mm) is so much finer than I've used in quite a while that I feel like I knit a lot but don't produce much. I've also modified the color charts a bit, which I suppose is only natural. What's unnatural is my recent obsession with checkerboard-type color work; the K1 natural, K1 brown or K2 natural, K2 brown thing. Don't know if it's just a phase - time will tell I guess! Here's my progress so far;

    It looks a bit strange as the live stitches are all bunched on the 16" circular but it fits my head nicely at 21" on the rolled end. Considering the winter we're having I can't finish this thing fast enough! More about that on my next post!
    My posts have been rather erratic lately and I can only attribute that to the fact I'm working on bigger projects right now. I'm nearly finished plying that baneful blue but until that swift is re-built I can't wind off - and sorry, I'm too lazy to use the back of a chair, someone's hands or anything else inconvenient! LOL! I'm also working madly to catch up my book keeping for year end and battling a nasty cold bug I've had for 9 weeks now - groan! Gotta love those virulent viruses!
