Mar La Sweater nearly complete!

Hopefully in a day or so I'll be able to post pics of the completed sweater! The sleeves were much less of a hassle than I thought! I used a 24" long bamboo 12mm circ and pulled the extra slack in the cord half way through the stitches. Basically it was like using 2 DPNs. I would knit all the stitches on one half, pull the cord then knit the other half. It went surprisingly fast! Here's a shot of the second sleeve in progress:

So nice having a good selection of circs! I can't remember when I last used straight single pointed needles! Gotta love those quick knits too! Both sleeves are knit onto the sweater now and I'm half way up the yoke. Another day and it should be done!
A nice surprise arrived in the mail today! Knit Kimono by Interweave Press! The subtitle for the book is "If you can knit a rectangle, you can knit a kimono". The patterns are thoughtful and beautiful! Here are several I'm considering:

Anyone who has seen the book knows the cover kimono is very dark red, almost burgundy so you can see how much my camera distorts red! I like the design of the cover kimono. The peach has a simple but elegant-looking lace design and as for the green one , I just like how it drapes. (Not too crazy about the colors of the knit samples) but I'm thinking maybe I'll use some of my silk yarns from Knitch for one of them ... I'll have to look into the yardage first tho ....
