More on 4" DPNs for Socks

I recently posted to the sock knitter's group about how much I like my 4" Hiya Hiya DPNs. I got the impression that other people must hold their needles funny because other posters commented that they find them too short for all the stitches and too difficult to hold.
I thought this was pretty weird. I have 56 stitches divided evenly between 3 DPNs and there's lots of room! So I'm posting a couple pics of how I hold the 4" needles. The non-working tip of the right hand needle rests firmly in the palm of my hand. By bracing it I have total control and boy I just burn through stockingette stitch!

You can see the right hand working needle just behind my thumb. The point in front of my thumb is the end of a non-working needle.

As you can see the stitches are not overly crowded on the needles either.

I finished the toe of this sock in much less time than it usually takes with longer needles!
