Purple Wheat Shawl

I finally cast on my purple cashemere and started the Wheat Shawl from Barb at Wild Geese Fibers. This yarn is so decadent! Soft as eider down! I finally decided to use an alternating rib as my garter stitch substitute. It's 3 rows of 1x1 rib and then you switch your Knit to purl and vice-versa for 3 rows then switch back etc. In my stitch pattern book it looks like little rows of wheat ears, which I thought was so cool and very much in keeping with the Wheat theme. So I was happily knitting along, admiring how nicely it lends itself to this yarn etc. After I had made about 10 inches of the shawl I realized - silly me - that all the wheat ears in the alternating rib are upside down because I'm working from the top down! No matter - I still think it looks great and I'm sticking with it! Now all I need is some energy - this cold is really draining me! Here it is so far:
