Swallowtail Shawl

At long last I have finally cast on my Swallowtail shawl! I am using the Cezanne Fantasia I bought a little while ago from Ram Wools in Winnipeg. It is 50% cotton, 40% viscose and 10% silk. It is soft and has a very luxuriant feel to it. This tactile pleasure is a really good thing - it's making me deal with all my chart flubs in a calmer manner! LOL! I haven't got a whole lot done but I am getting better at working from a chart - sort of! The right hand side is 100% correct but for some strange reason as soon as I get over the center stitch things go wrong! Maybe I start using the right side of my brain when I cross over or something, I don't know, but I've had to correct my stitch count 3 times already. No - I don't intend to rip it all out just to catch an extra YO 2 rows back - I'm a lazy knitter, remember?  I'm also 'learning' on this project and unless the mistake makes something glaringly ugly or noticeable, I'm just going to leave it! I'm sure this attitude may bother some knitters but I can live with some pattern imperfections when I'm trying  something new. It also gives me something to look back on as I improve. The other thing I've learned over the years, is that only a really rude knitter will notice the mistakes on the finished item and actually  say anything about them! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
