Zen Socks

Yes, I said ZEN socks! Mindless simple knitting just for the rhythmical relaxation. I have had 2 balls of Phildar Impact in my 'show' basket for so long! They came in an oddballs lot I bought on eBay last year. Although I have been tempted to give them away or sell them something about the color and texture kept me hesitating. The main strand is navy with a multi hued wind over thread that loops and clings intermittently. It's only 20% superwash wool but it's soft and tough at the same time.
So when I was casting about for another zen project I found myself drawn to these 2 skeins. They will produce a dense fabric with only stockingette (knit every round) and since they are already textured it will be mindless method sock. I'm not even sure I'll finish the cuff with ribbing. I cast on with 3.25mm needles and found it almost too tight because of the loopiness. There is lots of 'give' to them though and DS#3 has tried the toe on already for fit so I know it will be fine. I think they'll need all the durability edge I can give them. He's already very pleased to claim them as his own and I find him inspecting my knitting basket occasionally to check my progress!
